EmSAT English Test:

Those EmSAT Tests aim to identify the proficiency of the student in the English language. They assess the extent to which the student is ready to study in an English‐medium college or university.

Test Duration: Nearly 125 minutes. The time of the EmSAT English test is divided between the different sections.

Test System: EmSAT tests questions are divided according to the section as following:

• EmSAT English Reading Section: The reading section includes questions in grammar, vocabulary, and different types of reading texts. It is divided into:
• Close reading sections (passages):  In close reading passage sections, students can see blanks that are required to be filled in short (200-word) reading passages.
• Extended reading sections (passages): In extended reading sections, there are three reading texts including descriptive, narrative, or expository texts. They range from 275 words to 550 words. 
• EmSAT English Writing Section:  The writing section takes about 30-minutes. Briefly, it consists of typing an essay of 250 words on a definite topic. 
• Grammar Sections: The grammar section tests the students on their ability to select the correct word or words to complete a sentence. 
• Vocabulary Sections: The vocabulary sections consist of short multiple-choice vocabulary questions which determine the level of the student’s knowledge of the high‐frequently used words needed to function effectively in an English‐medium environment. 
•  There are about six sections: close reading, extended reading, grammar, vocabulary, sentence construction, and writing. 
•  Questions are arranged randomly for most of the test. 
• Sections and subsections of the test are timed automatically by your computer you are having the test on. 
• Students can follow up the time passed during the exam. 

EmSAT Arabic Test:

Those EmSAT Tests aim to identify the excellence of the student in Arabic language skills. They assess the extent to which the student is ready to study Arabic at the college or university level. 

Test Duration: Nearly 120 minutes. The time of the EmSAT Arabic test is divided between the different sections  as following: 

• 35 minutes for the reading section.
•  35 minutes for the vocabulary & sentence construction section.
•  50 minutes for the writing section. 

 No. of Questions: Nearly 90 questions including one essay.

•  Multiple Choice.

Test System: EmSAT Arabic exams questions are divided according to the section as following:

Test Duration: 120 minutes.

EmSAT Score range

There are no passing or failing scores in EmSAT tests. Each subject has an EmSAT score range which represents the student’s level in it.

English 

The English EmSAT score is represented by:

• 2000: It represents the C2 level. It is one of the 2 proficient levels.
• 1625 – 1975:  It represents the C1 level. It is one of the 2 proficient levels.
• 1250 – 1600: It represents the B2 level. It is one of the 2 independent levels.
• 875 – 1225:  It represents the B1 level. It is one of the 2 independent levels.
• 500 – 850:  It represents the A2 level. It is one of the 2 Basic levels.
