About the Academy

Established in 1978, adnoc technical academy is an oil and gas training facility that trains and develops young Emiratis to become operators and technicians at the various operational facilities of the Abu Dhabi National Oil Company (ADNOC) in the UAE. 

adnoc technical academy aims to build the trainee’s technical capabilities and skills through a 30 months-long comprehensive training program that consists of different phases from theoretical studies to hands-on experiences and on the job trainings in one of ADNOC’s operating companies. Our mandate is to develop the competencies of the UAE youth to commence their careers in the vital jobs of the oil and gas industry while supporting ADNOC’s expansion and growth plans. The Academy also offers competency assessments and specialized training programs for ADNOC employees as required.

Wholly owned and sponsored by ADNOC Group Companies, the Academy consists of a large purpose-built campus with state-of-the-art facilities that include fully equipped workshops, modern classrooms, science laboratories, DCS simulation centers, and laboratories for each specialization, in addition to several pilot training plants.

The Lounge at the Academy’s campus offers trainees, faculty, and employees a common area for relaxing, spontaneous meetings, informal teaching, and discussions. It is equipped with comfortable furniture, a number of coffee shops, and game stations, serving as a space of interaction, gathering, engagement, and activity.

Sport Facilities 

The Academy has a number of sports facilities and is keen to encourage trainees to actively participate in its sporting activities.

The Clinic

The Academy’s clinic provides quality primary and urgent medical care. The clinic is staffed with qualified nurses and a doctor who is available during regular working hours.

Accreditation

The Academy provides vocational programs recognized by national and international awarding bodies; National Qualifications Center (NQC), Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) and Offshore Oil Industry Petroleum Organization (OPITO).

  • Diploma in Electrical Maintenance – Oil & Gas
  • Diploma in Instrument and Control Maintenance – Oil & Gas
  • Diploma in Mechanical Maintenance – Oil & Gas
  • Diploma in Oil & Gas Processing Operations

Benefits and Allowances

During the period of training, adnoc technical academy provides its trainees with a range of benefits and allowances that includes the following:

  • A monthly allowance starting from AED 5,000 and increases in On Job Training phase based on sites location.
  • Accommodation and transportation upon eligibility.
  • Health insurance

To be an eligible candidate for the Academy, the applicant must meet the following criteria:

  • UAE National
  • Grade 12 high school certificate
  • National service completed or exempted
  • Aged between 17 and 27 years. 

Acceptance Conditions

To be admitted to the Academy, the applicant must meet the following conditions: 

  • Pass the Academy’s entry examination in Mathematics, Science, and English.
  • Pass the face-to-face interview.
  • Pass the Academy’s medical tests.
