About the Institution

 United Arab Emirates University (UAEU) – the first and foremost comprehensive national university in the United Arab Emirates. Founded in 1976 by the late Sheikh Zayed Bin Sultan Al Nahyan, UAEU aspires to become a comprehensive, research-intensive university and currently enrolls approximately 15,000 Emirati and international students. Academic Support

The Learning Centers, part of University College’s Student Success Unit (SSU), offer support and services to UAEU students to help them improve their academic performance, develop effective communication skills and gain hands-on experience with new technology. The centers – comprising the Writing, Speaking, Tutorial, and Technology Centers – support UAEU students university-wide, and at all academic levels. All academic community members are welcome to use our services, which are available both face-to-face and online.

Eligibility Criteria

Admission Requirements for all Colleges (except for the College of Medicine and Health Sciences – Medicine Degrees)

  • Elite Stream – Minimum overall average of 75%
  • Advanced Stream – Minimum overall average of 80%
  • General Stream – Minimum overall average of 80%with the exception of the College of Law where a minimum of 85% is required.  
  • Advanced Technical High Schools (ATHS) ASP – Minimum overall average of 75%
  • Advanced Technical High Schools (ATHS) advance – Minimum overall average of 80%
  • Secondary Technical School (STS) – Minimum overall average of 80% with the exception of the Colleges of Engineering and Information Technology where a minimum of 90% is needed College of Law where a minimum of 85% is required.
  • SABIS System- Minimum overall average of 75%   
  • International Baccalaureate (IB) – IB diploma with a minimum score of 24 points, exclusive of any bonus points   
  • American System – Minimum overall average of 80% or GPA 3 (on a scale of 4), or equivalent  
  • British System (GCE/IGCSE) – Total of eight subjects, five at (O level) and three at (AS/A level), with a minimum grade of C in all subjects. Arabic Language and Islamic Education are not counted.
  •  Chinese – Minimum of 80% in the final year national exam, or its equivalent.
  •  Indian Boards and Pakistani Boards- Minimum of 75% in the Senior Secondary School
  • Certificate (12th Standard), or its equivalent.

Three of the subjects should be science subjects with a minimum grade of (B). Any four subjects should have a minimum grade of (A). Arabic Language and Islamic Education are not counted.

Acceptance Conditions

  •  Completion of Grade 12 Certificate of the United Arab Emirates or it’s equivalent while meeting the minimum requirements for the following school systems and certificates.
  •  A minimum score of 1250 in EmSAT English, or 5.5 in IELTS (Academic), or it’s equivalent. 
  • Conditional Admission, Applicants with EmSAT English score of (1100 to 1225), or its equivalent, shall be conditionally admitted to the University. The student cannot register for credit courses unless he or she achieves the required English score
  •  Applicants who graduated from private schools that do not follow the government curriculum and those with high school certificates issued from outside UAE should obtain equivalency for their High School Certificate from the UAE Ministry of Education.
